To be the best, you need to learn from the best! Taylorweir is a state leader in delivering the most industry relevant curriculum within the National Hairdressing Training Package.

Located in the heart of Northbridge, Taylorweir is easily accessible. Northbridge is the cultural and entertainment hub of Perth, home to the city art gallery, museum, state library and many art and entertainment venues. You will be spoilt for choice with so many cafés, restaurants and bars to visit.

Established in 1997, Taylorweir is the longest established private registered hairdressing training provider in Western Australia, delivering Certificate II, Certificate III and Certificate IV in Hairdressing and the Diploma of Salon Management on behalf of the Western Australian Department of Training and Workplace Development under the National Hairdressing Training Package.

From our start, with just eight students, to a college that today teaches almost 500 students, Taylorweir is a true success story. We regard quality outcomes for students and employers as our core business; our students and employers as equally important stakeholders and training industry competent hairdressers as our mission. We now train 40% of all the hairdressing apprentices
and trainees and 90% of all international hairdressing students in Western Australia.

Over the past eighteen years Taylorweir has built up a strong reputation within the hairdressing industry as a training college that provides quality training, producing skilled hairdressers and trainees. It is seen as a college committed to the hairdressing industry, one that can be relied upon to work with industry to achieve its objectives and which provides support and to both its apprentices and its international students.

Working with major sponsor L’Oreal, Taylorweir has the exclusive rights to be the backstage hair styling team for Fashion Central at the Telstra Perth Fashion Festival each September. Three teams of volunteer trainers, apprentices and international students from Certificate III and Certificate IV produce fantastic work across the three days with styles that are curled, pinned and dressed out, teased, tousled and fish tailed and braided, twisted and top knotted! Our students love the chaos and energy working side by side with their trainers.

Our reputation and close relationship with industry employers ensures that our international students not only get the best training but also recognition from the industry that the skills they have gained are of an exceptional standard. Taylorweir graduates are extremely employable.

As an international student at Taylorweir you will learn side by side with local apprentices. This is invaluable in the learning environment and is an opportunity to meet and form friendships with local hairdressing apprentices and hairdressers.

Taylorweir offer three qualifications to international students. All are nationally accredited and recognised worldwide:

  • SIH30111 Certificate III in Hairdressing
  • SIH40111 Certificate IV in Hairdressing
  • xSIB5021A Diploma of Salon Management

Students gain the skills required by industry through a professional approach to their studies and practical workshop experience.
